How to reach the Monastery
The Holy Monastery of Kremasta lies about two kilometres south of Neapoli, Lasithi, on the slopes of Mount Kavalaras, near the village of Vryses Merambellou.
- From Heraklion: follow the Northern Road Axis of Crete (BOAK) towards Agios Nikolaos and take the Neapoli exit. The distance from Heraklion airport is about 55 km.
- From Agios Nikolaos: follow the BOAK towards Heraklion and take the Neapoli exit, about 15 km away.
- From Neapoli: from the town centre follow the road to Vryses and the signs to the Monastery of Kremasta. The Monastery is a few minutes away by car.
Parking is available outside the Monastery. Visitors are kindly asked to dress modestly and to respect the quiet of the place.
